collaboration with bernard dumaine :iconbernardumaine:.
i started the upper half with the bottles, covered everything, except for a small stripe and mailed it to bernard.
then bernard finished the lower part.

ok, my first critique... I'll give my best

i think it's a great concept to do such a collaboration in which the one part doesn't know what the other one did. in so doing imaginative and novel artwork can be created, though the idea isn't new but so typical for surrealists.

the drawing technique is almost perfect, but there are some parts that could be better, e.g. some of the water splashers just doesn't look so convincing (i know, it's the most difficult part) but at the "emersion point" the water seems very real and dynamic!

are those cracks in the wall neccesary? they bother me a little bit, but maybe without them something would be missing. they kind of stabilize the compostion.

the perspective breaks up in the middle because it's completly different in both halfs. that appears irritating, but adds suspense to the drawing just like that well balancend contrast.
What do you think?

great job. the combination of minimal bacground and high skilled shadings and light reflexes is simply amazing.

thanks! it was weird, that me and bernard had such a similar realistic but minimalistic image in mind... :)

maybe bernard :iconbernardumaine: likes them because he gave the title to the picture (he also drew the lightbulb)

This is actually a clever piece, and the title gives some of that away too. I hate how you did the water so realistically! I wouldn't know where to start!!!

thank you very much, david! :)
i feel very honored, that an artist like you digs my work! :)
but please note, that only the upper half was made by be. the lower half was made by bernard dumaine :iconbernardumaine: and i think he did a better realism job then me...;)
but all in all it is a funny collaboration with a unique outcome and that's what it is all about!

mal wieder vielen dank! :)
